When You Feel Unnoticed
In this crazy busy world full of so called “social media worthy” moments, it’s so easy too feel like we or what we do really don’t matter.
There’s the mom whose kids are always dressed in the latest fashion, eating organic foods, and pursuing educational opportunities beyond their grade level. Or the woman who seems to have the perfect job, the perfect husband and kids, and is always doing something fabulously exciting.
Then there is me. The woman who struggles to get out of bed in the morning because she’s not so sure what she should be doing. Who can’t figure out what to wear or how to fit in. Who’s really just tired of trying to achieve “perfect.” Who wonders if her work really matters.
The other day, I was reminded by a Facebook memory of a verse that must have meant a lot to me a few years ago because I had shared it on social media. It is Hebrews 6:10.
For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.
Sometimes I feel overlooked and that I don’t matter to the world. My work seems unimportant because it’s not big in the world’s eyes. But God sees. He sees me and the work I try to do for Him and His Kingdom. He sees. He knows. He cares.
What about you? Do you feel overlooked or that you don’t matter.
Friend, you do. You matter to God. And He’s the only one who counts.
The next time you feel that you or your work don’t matter, remember that God sees, God knows, and God cares.
And that is enough.
