Trusting God With the Results
Have you been working hard in an area of your life but not seeing many results?
If you have been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that I’ve had many stops and starts over the years. The reason I have not been consistent with posting is that sometimes it’s hard to do all the work it takes to make a blog successful and then not see very many results. I find it difficult to continue when I don’t feel like I’m making a difference in the lives of women.
I have noticed, though, that when I put in the work to create a more effective blog, I begin to see the results of increased blog traffic and reader interaction.
However, those results don’t always show up right away. Sometimes I think I have the perfect post that will help lots of women only to see it read very little. Often it feels like I’m writing to an empty auditorium.
I put in a lot of hours thinking of blog posts, writing, and creating images to make my posts more attractive. I feel like I put in a lot of work for few results.
As I said above, sometimes when you put in the work, you won’t always see the results right away. However, if we are faithful to continue the work we know we are called to do, I believe God will bring the results.
Here are a few situations where you may be putting in the work but aren’t seeing any results:
Faithfully teaching your children how to make wise decisions only to have them choose unwisely.
Speaking to your unsaved friend on a regular basis sharing your faith but they still don’t believe.
Doing your best at your job, arriving early and staying late, only to be passed over for promotion.
Working two jobs to make ends meet but you never seem to be able to get ahead.
Training really hard for an athletic event only to injure yourself.
Making wise food choices and exercising regularly but not seeing any physical differences.
I firmly believe if we are doing what God has called us to do, we will see results. They may not always be the kinds of results we expect or want. But they will be God’s best.
I love the words of Proverbs 16:1-4 (ESV):
The plans of the heart belong to a man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established. The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.
When our hearts are in line with God and we are seeking Him to know our purpose, God will step in and bring about the results He wants. We just need to be faithful and live out our calling.
What results are you waiting for?
Thank you so much for this post! Please know that your thoughts and efforts into writing it did not go unnoticed. It was definitely what I needed right now:). Thank you and God Bless!
