Silent Night, Holy Night-December Scripture Writing Plan
It’s that time of year when we reflect on and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Over the years, as I’ve produced Scripture Writing Plans, I’ve always focused the December plan on the birth of Jesus.

This year’s plan still focuses on Jesus. However, I have chosen verses that share the prophecy of His birth and verses that tell about His birth. I think it’s so important we go back to the Old Testament to learn more about God’s plan for Jesus to be the Savior of the world.
As you read and write these verses, consider the following:
- What do you think the Israelites thought of Isaiah’s prophecies of a Messiah?
- Note the elements of the prophecies from Isaiah and others in the Old Testament are fulfilled in the New Testament passages you write.
- Think about how Mary and Joseph must have felt as they discovered they were to be the parents of Jesus.
Let’s not gloss over these passages of Scripture because they are so familiar to us. Take the time to marvel at God’s plan for the redemption of the world. Praise Him daily for His grace that allows us to spend eternity with Him.
