Reflections on the Easter Season

Reflections on the Easter Season

Easter is one of the most important holidays I celebrate as a Christian. Christmas is the time to celebrate Jesus’ coming as one of us. Easter is the time, though, to celebrate Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice and work on our behalf.

If Jesus did not die on the cross and rise three days later, I would have no hope of spending eternity in Heaven with God. It was because of Jesus’ sacrifice that I can have that assurance.

There are lots of songs sung about the cross and it’s meaning for those who are believers. One of my favorites is At the Cross (Love Ran Red) by Chris Tomlin. It says everything that I’m feeling when I think about Jesus dying on the cross for me.

Read the words and let them sink in.

There’s a place where mercy reigns and never dies
There’s a place where streams of grace flow deep and wide
Where all the love I’ve ever found
Comes like a flood
Comes flowing down
[Chorus:]
At the cross
At the cross
I surrender my life
I’m in awe of You
I’m in awe of You
Where Your love ran red
And my sin washed white
I owe all to You
I owe all to You Jesus
There’s a place where sin and shame are powerless
Where my heart has peace with God and forgiveness
Where all the love I’ve ever found
Comes like a flood
Comes flowing down
[Chorus]
Here my hope is found
Here on holy ground
Here I bow down
Here I bow down
Here arms open wide
Here You saved my life
Here I bow down
Here I bow…[Chorus]
If you are a believer, then you understand the sacrifice Jesus made for you. If you are not a believer and want to know more, email me at jennifer [at] jenniferbooth [dot] com. I’d love to share with you how Jesus can make a difference in your life.
