How to Make Gratitude a Part of Your Morning Routine

How to Make Gratitude a Part of Your Morning Routine

Life is full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and joys and sorrows. How we choose to respond to the things that happen in our lives is up to us. We can either grumble or we can be grateful.

I have been working hard to establish a morning routine for a few weeks. I’m not there yet, so I’m not going to share everything I’m doing. I promise when I get a routine established, you’ll be the first to know! However, I want to share one aspect of my morning routine that is making a huge difference in my life.

I bought this little journal titled Choose Gratitude Blessings Journal.

Blessings Journal

I heard about it from Crystal Paine, the Money Saving Mom. In fact, she is the one who wrote most of the inspirational quotes in the journal.

When I first heard her talking about it, I didn’t think it was something I’d really use. I thought the concept was a little too simple. This is what one of the pages looks like:

I didn’t think a couple of little lines to write your blessings each day would be enough to make a difference in my life. Well, after a week of doing it, I have to say I was wrong.

Just the act of writing down a few blessings each day has really helped me to see problems or difficult situations I may dealing with from a different perspective. It’s easier to see the good even in the more difficult times of life.

After I update prayer requests in my prayer notebook, I write down some of my blessings in the journal. It reminds me of what I need to praise God for in my life.

It is so simple yet so powerful to name our blessings daily. I encourage you to give it a try. You don’t need a fancy journal, either. A notebook will suffice.

I promise you won’t regret writing down your blessings!

How do you express gratitude for the blessings God has given you?
