Pressing On Even When It’s Messy
Have you heard the saying, “It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.”? It definitely applies to organizing!
This week I am dedicating some time to cleaning out the closet in my office/craft room. We’ve been in this house two and a half years now, and I’ve not really utilized the space in an efficient manner. This closet has turned into a junky storage space.
I’m not going into detail how I’m getting it organized. I’ll share my process in a future post. But, I want to share how frustrating organizing can be when it seems all that is being accomplished is one huge mess.
Here is what my office currently looks like as I’m working on this closet.
I have begun the process of emptying out my closet and sorting each item into like categories. As you can see, there is hardly a place for me to even walk. And, I’m not even a quarter of the way finished!
It’s easy to get discouraged when all you see is a giant mess. My message to you today is to not give up. Stay focused on your project and work on it as you have time. Devoting just 15 minutes a day will produce greater results than you can imagine.
If you remain focus and diligent, you will see results in just a few days. If you find yourself bogged down, enlist a friend or family member to help you get over the hump. Sometimes they can help you make a more objective decision with what to do with your stuff.
How do you keep yourself motivated when cleaning out or organizing a large space?
