Planning For Your Best Year Ever

Planning for Your Best Year Ever

Wow! It’s hard to believe that 2015 is coming to a close. I don’t know about you, but this year has certainly not turned out as I anticipated.

Many things have happened that I did not plan for. And, many things have NOT happened that I thought surely would take place this year. Overall, though, I would say this has been a great year of growth in many areas of my life.

As I look ahead to 2016, I know I want to be more intentional about how I live my life. I have reaffirmed through my training to become Life Plan Coach that I need a clear, concise plan to help me fulfill the purpose God has given me during this season of my life.

I strongly believe if I am willing to do the work of planning and following through with my plans, God will show up, guide me, and help me to have my best year ever.

Does that mean God is going to give me great success in the world’s eyes? NO! It just means I’ll be following God one step at a time as He leads me on the path He has chosen for me. It means there will be great successes along with a few let downs or failures. It’s called life!

However, I believe that if you don’t have a plan, you’ll never get anywhere.

Here is how I am planning for my best year ever.

1. Pray

I have great ideas sometimes, or so I think! However, if I’m not lining up my ideas with God’s plan for my life, I will only find much frustration.

Prayer is such an important aspect of planning. When I am in tune with what God is doing in my life and in the lives of others around me, I can more effectively plan and make the best use of my time.

Check out my post called No Matter What-Pray to learn more about how prayer can help you plan for the new year.

2. Live Out Your Priorities

After you have prayed about what God wants you to do in the coming year, you will begin to get a better idea of the priorities in your life. Once you’ve identified those priorities, you need to start living them out.

Just identifying our priorities is not enough. We must take action if we are to succeed.

My post, Living Out Your Priorities in the New Year, is a great resource to help you in this area.

3. Trust God With The Results

When plans we have so carefully made after praying and discerning what we believe God is telling us to do fall through, it’s easy to get discouraged. We wonder if we heard God correctly. Or, we question whether we’ve done something wrong for Him to withhold His blessings on our lives.

Sometimes it’s just the consequences of living in a fallen world. So, when things don’t work out as we planned, we must still trust God.

Trusting God With The Results can help you focus on what to do when plans don’t go your way.

I am excited for 2016! On Monday, I am going to share with you how to develop a schedule that works for you. I will give you a free resource as well as give you tips to create a schedule that will allow you to fulfill your God-given purpose.

Coming in January, I’ll be able to introduce another free resource to help you keep prayer as your main focus in planning. And, I’m working on other opportunities for you to learn more about discovering your purpose.

Have a great weekend!
