How I Schedule My Weekly Tasks
Can you believe it is November already? There are only two months left in the year. And, they just so happen to be the busiest months of the year.
Now that November has arrived, I’m beginning to work on my plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, while I need to plan for these holidays, I still need to keep up my regular routines and tasks.
I thought I’d share with you today about how I schedule my recurring weekly tasks. These are tasks such as laundry, grocery shopping, house cleaning, etc.
I’ve shared before how much I love my paper planner. Having a week on two pages layout helps me to see my entire week and what I want/need to accomplish that week.
I’ve taken a cue from the FlyLady. Her method of staying organized when it comes to home management is to assign a task to the same day each week. That way when Monday rolls around, you’ll know it’s laundry day or errand day or whatever you have scheduled for that day.
So, here is how my week looks:
Monday-laundry and grocery shopping
Tuesday-prepare lesson for GA (a missions group for girls)
Wednesday-zone cleaning (read more about this concept here)
Thursday-laundry
Friday-wash sheets and clean house
Saturday-catch up day
Sunday-clip coupons, meal planning, grocery list
I write these tasks in as part of my top three list on the day I want to get it done.
I don’t always get everything done on the day it is assigned. Most times I do, but there are occasions where the task has to be carried over to another day. That’s the beauty of the week on two pages layout. If I can’t complete a task on its assigned day, then I can easily see where I can fit it in the rest of the week.
You can see I have a pretty simple method. I just want to make sure certain tasks get done each week.
What is your method of scheduling weekly tasks?
I love the week on two pages layout you use. Where did you get it?
Sharon, I used pages from http://www.lifeiscrafted.com. I think her 2015 inserts will be released in October. I have loved this layout.
The pre-order just launched! There is a third design out too!
