127: Meal Planning 101 with Amy Cobb-Part 1

The number one thing that has caused me the most frustration and has made me feel like a failure as a wife, mom, and homemaker is meal planning. As a writer, sometimes I struggle with writer’s block, not knowing what I need to say.

But the biggest case of writer’s block I face is when I sit down to make out a meal plan and grocery list. I do not know what the root cause is that makes meal planning so hard for me.

I do remember when my kids were little, we tended to eat the same things week after week. Thankfully, my kids are grown and have developed a willingness to eat a wide variety of foods. So, maybe my boring meal plans week after week didn’t scar them too much.

All joking aside, I think meal planning is something that many people struggle with. But once you master a meal planning routine that works for you, you’ll find that life is a little bit less stressed and complicated. And you most likely will have some time to do other things once meal planning is on autopilot.

I’m excited to have my friend Amy Cobb join me on the show to talk about meal planning. In my book, Amy is the queen of meal planning. You may remember that she joined me back in the fall of 2021 to talk about managing your time while living with a chronic illness. She briefly talked about how meal planning helped prepare for those times when she had a bad day healthwise.

Amy and I talked about meal planning for almost an hour, so I made two episodes out of our conversation. Today’s is part 1, and part 2 will drop next week.

You will not want to miss what Amy has to share about meal planning. Listen through the player above.
