120: Strategies for Putting Boundaries Around Your Priorities

If you’ve listened to the priorities series I’ve been doing in episodes 118 and 119 and have put into practice what I shared, then you should have a pretty good idea of what your priorities are in your current season of life.
Once you have your priorities in place, it’s easy to think that you’ve got it made now. After all, you know what you should focus on, so everything should fall into place, right?
Well, not necessarily. I know from experience that the best-laid plans can go awry so fast it’ll make your head spin. All it takes is one call or text to throw my intentions off for the day.
Even now, when I recognize that I may be sidetracked by a distraction or something else that needs my attention, I still sometimes struggle with staying focused on my priorities.
To help me minimize distractions, I’ve learned to put some boundaries in place. Boundaries are the best way to make sure you can focus on what is most important. They help you to keep first things first while allowing you to address the distractions or requests for your time in a way that works best for you.

In this episode, I want to share some ways you can put boundaries around your priorities to help make sure you live them out. Will these ideas guarantee that 100% of the time you’ll be able to stay focused? No way. Having boundaries helps, but we also have to do our part and be disciplined to enforce those boundaries.
