Discovering Your Life Purpose
I am excited to share with you something new where God has been working in my life and leading me to for a long time.
I am currently taking a course to become a Christian Life Purpose Coach with my friend Dr. Betsy Lavin.
Now, I can hear you asking, “Why would a Christian need a life purpose coach? Can’t I just discover my life purpose on my own?”
My answer to the second question would be, yes! You CAN discover your life purpose on your own through prayer and the study of the Bible.
However, I have learned that many Christians do not know where to look or understand how to discover their purpose through studying the Bible. That’s where a life purpose coach comes in.
As a life purpose coach, I will be able to guide you through a specific study of the Bible to help you understand how God has been at work in your life, uncover the gifts and strengths God has given you, and learn where He wants you to go in the future.
My intention is to be able to work with women one-on-one to go through this process. However, through this wonderful age of technology, I’ll be able to share a lot about discovering your life purpose through this blog and other media avenues. I’ll even be able to develop speaking topics and retreats to use with larger groups of women.
I’m excited to see how God is going to work through this next phase in my life!
For now though, I do want to share something I have learned in my training.
While we all have a specific purpose in our lives, we also share a common purpose. We are to…
Give God glory
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians10:31 ESV
Jesus said, ‘I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.’ John 17:4 NIV
Fulfill God’s plan
It is in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. Ephesians 1:11 MSG
Serve others
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10 NIV
At the end of the day, if you have given God glory through acknowledging His work in your life, you have fulfilled your purpose. So many times we get so caught up in our to-do lists that we forget the important work is to give God glory through what we do and how we serve others.
I’m so excited to share with you in the coming weeks and months all the wonderful things I’ve learned. New things will happen here on the blog as well when we enter 2016.
