Cultivating Contentment-November Scripture Writing Plan

Are you content with your life? Do you wish things were different?

Most of us feel this way at one time or another. However, as believers, we should not stay in a state of discontentment.

Sometimes we’re not content with the things we have. But, I would argue that just as often we are not content with either our calling or current circumstances.

I’ve been there before, and it’s not a fun place to be. And when you add in comparison that comes with seeing others so called “perfect” lives on social media, it’s really easy to lose our contentment.

This month, the Scripture Writing Plan focuses on contentment. Typically in November, I will do a plan that focuses on giving thanks. This year, though, I thought we needed a reminder of what it means to live with contentment.

Several of the verses demonstrate how God provides all we need. So we don’t need to look at material possessions or even other people to have our needs met.

Other verses teach how to live a life of contentment. And still others show what a life that is not contented looks like.
